Welcome to the web page of Sussex County Community College!  This site is your portal to the services and opportunities provided by the college, just as the college is your portal for growth and change.

Here at Sussex County Community College we are committed to providing accessible, affordable, quality education for everyone in our community in the belief that education is transformational.  It is the window that provides a vision into new horizons, some never even contemplated or imagined!  This exploration and the concomitant learning through experience lead to development and in the best of all worlds, greater happiness.

Personal development is at the core of education, but that is not the exclusive benefit.  Statistically, college graduates earn more money than high school graduates.  In the complex, ever-changing, technological society we live in, few of us will finish our careers with the same profession in which we started.  And so our ability to survive in the workplace is dependent upon our ability to adapt and change.  Although no degree or training program will provide us with all the technical skills necessary for a lifetime, an education will provide us with the skill of “learning to learn,” and that is the lifetime tool for changing and adapting.

Education is for everyone.  It is never too soon and never too late to begin your education; whether you are a high school student in one our concurrent education classes or you are a returning adult student in a degree program, training program, or are seeking skills or personal enrichment through our Corporate and Community Education Center, there is a place for you.  One-half of our college community is comprised of recent high school graduates and the other half by students twenty-five years or older combining education and employment.  And so there is a wonderful diversity in this environment.  Within this diversity there are fast learners and others who need a bit more assistance.  Here, we are prepared to challenge the fast learners and equally prepared to assist others.  If you are troubled by the uncertainty of mastering fundamental skills, we will diagnose and remedy those deficiencies.  If you are a returning adult troubled by the length of time out of the classroom, we will reassure you.  Every student will be afforded the opportunity for success and provided with the support necessary to succeed in a student-centered, learning-centered, student-important environment.

As this "community's" college our commitment is to your education, and so too through collaboration, service and involvement we will promote the wellbeing of Sussex County.
