New Jersey State Opera at Sussex County Community College
The New Jersey State Opera will be performing at Sussex County Community College as part of a four concert series. Each performance will take place in the Performing Arts Center at SCCC.
The first performance to kick-off the series will be on Saturday, June, 14th – "The Best of Italian Opera" featuring Neapolitan songs and many other favorites. The next performance will be held in the fall on Saturday, October 4th – "Visual Arias II." The third performance is scheduled for Saturday, November 8th – "Opera in the Movies." The final performance of the series will be on Saturday, February 7th – "Lover's & Scoundrels" A Valentine's Concert.
All of the concerts in this series begin at 8:00 p.m. and are brought to SCCC by the New Jersey State Opera Company under Maestro Jason Tramm. Visual Arias II is made possible through Arttekk.
Before each performance, beginning at 6:30 p.m., will be, "Meet the Maestro." Enjoy conversations with the conductor over refreshments as you gain insight into that evening's performance. Space is limited for these special receptions.
For this series there are special 4-Opera and 3-Opera series ticket options available. The 4-Opera Series costs $150 per person ($22.50 per concert and $15 per "Meet the Maestro") and includes all four operatic concerts and all four private, pre-show receptions. The 3-Opera Series costs $127.50 per person ($22.50 per concert and $15 per "Meet the Maestro") and includes three operatic concerts and three private, pre-show receptions.
The ticket price for individual concerts is $25 per person. There is an additional $20 per person charge for those interested in participating in the "Meet the Maesto" events which begin at 6:30 p.m.

New Jersey State Opera Holding Auditions at SCCC
The New Jersey State Opera is seeking new voices to join the Chorus of the New Jersey State Opera, the longest standing opera chorus in the state. Singers selected will become members of the Chorus and will have the opportunity to perform with some of opera’s most exciting soloists, accompanied by a full orchestra under the baton of Jason Tramm, in the company’s September 14th Grand Opera Concert at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 14th from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College. Requirements for those auditioning: strong voices and sight singing skills desired and materials needed include: Va pensiero, headshot or recent photo. There is no fee to audition.
