The non-credit EMT course at SCCC is designed to teach the emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured prior to pre-hospital care. The course at SCCC is approved by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, and Office of Emergency Medical Services. This course concludes with a New Jersey State Certification Exam.

Program Length/Time:
The EMT course is 200 hours in length and runs for 15 weeks. Classes run during the day in the spring and in the evenings in the fall.

  • Apply online or complete an application and return it to the Admissions Office. You will be issued a student ID #.
  • Provide proof of age. EMT students who are at least 16 years of age but not yet 18 years of age will be awarded a provisional certification that will become a full certification upon reaching 18 years of age).
  • Submit the EMT Training Fund Certificate Eligibility form signed by the chief supervising officer of the squad with which you are affiliated, if appropriate.
  • Submit proof of CPR certification at the first class session.
