Job Description

Sussex County Community College seeks a temporary part time (16 hour/week) laboratory assistant to perform various tasks to support full and part time science faculty in all disciplines. The position is expected to be available May to August. 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing chemicals and biological media
  2. Setting up/cleaning up laboratory experiments including hazardous materials management
  3. Maintaining inventory and assisting with budget needs
  4. Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in chemistry or biology, bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

A minimum of 6 months laboratory experience may be substituted for the degree. 

Additional Skills Required:  

Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

Ability to work in Microsoft Office.  

Evening availability a plus.
