High school students can take advantage of the many programs offered to them from Sussex County Community College (SCCC). These programs expose students to college-level classes that prepare them for college success, build their confidence, and help them achieve an affordable degree.
SCCC continues its partnership with area high schools to offer high school students college credits in several different formats. The following programs are being offered:
The Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) is a partnership between SCCC and area high schools to provide qualified high school students the opportunity to enroll in college courses as part of their regular school day. General education courses that satisfy basic requirements in a broad range of majors are usually offered.
The Jump Start Program allows current high school students who qualify to receive course instruction on the SCCC campus. Students get to experience what campus life is like, which can help ease the transition from high school to college.
Earning college credit in high school can help ensure that students graduate from college on time—if not early. Also, the cost of these programs is far less than what students pay once they’re in college, potentially saving thousands of dollars off the cost of a college education.
