Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is proud to announce the addition of a Junior Varsity (JV) baseball team to its athletic program, set to debut in the 2026 season. The initiative reflects SCCC’s commitment to athletic excellence and student development, providing an expanded platform for players to grow both on and off the field. The JV team will support the varsity baseball team, allowing more players the opportunity to play in a competitive environment.
The new JV team will serve as a developmental program for student-athletes who look to compete at the varsity level. It will offer additional playing time, coaching, and training opportunities, helping athletes refine their skills and transition more into competitive collegiate baseball.
“We are excited to launch the JV baseball team as part of our ongoing efforts to build a strong, inclusive athletic program,” said Athletic Director Todd Poltersdorf. “This initiative allows us to support more student-athletes in reaching their full potential and strengthens the pipeline to our varsity team.”
The JV team will compete in a limited but competitive schedule against other regional JV and club teams, with a focus on fundamental skill development, teamwork, and academic success.
