Alpha Arts Institute

The newly established Alpha Arts Institute (AAI) at Sussex features professional artists in the visual, performing, and literary arts.

The Alpha Arts Institute at Sussex County Community College proudly unveils the call for submissions for the second annual Alpha Arts Film Festival (AAFF). This juried festival invites filmmakers from across the globe to showcase their work in an atmosphere dedicated to celebrating cinematic creativity and innovation.

The Film Festival is slated to take place on September 19-21, 2024

Film Categories for the 2024 lineup:

  1. Experimental Films: This category embraces the avant-garde spirit of filmmaking, inviting submissions that push the boundaries of traditional cinematic conventions. Experimental films challenge narrative norms and explore alternative storytelling methods, offering audiences a glimpse into unconventional realms of visual expression.
  2. Narrative Short Films: Short films provide a platform for concise yet impactful storytelling, allowing filmmakers to craft compelling narratives within a limited timeframe. This category welcomes submissions that showcase the art of storytelling in its most condensed and evocative form, offering audiences a diverse array of captivating narratives to experience. Time limit 40 minutes.

The submission period opens on March 1 and closes on August 1.

  • Entry fee: $20 per film submission
  • Student fee: $10 per film submission
  • Late submission fee: $10 + Entry Fee
