Ann Bain was a refugee, first from Pearl Harbor shortly after the attack on December 7, 1941, then from the Chinese Revolution and creation of the People's Republic of China in 1949, and then from the Korean War in the early 1950s. After changing schools fourteen times, she received a B.A. degree magna cum laude in Far Eastern History from Harvard University. As we currently watch the plight of women and children fleeing from Ukraine, she will give some perspective on the concerns of refugees. Ann has served on the SCCC Board of Trustees, is currently on the SCCC Foundation Board, and is the author of three books including Life on the Move that chronicles some of these experiences.
