About the Transition

As we continue to prioritize technology across campus, we are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of an enhanced version of my.sussex portal and our finance management system that will feature:

  • More intuitive navigation
  • Advanced course planning tools for easier class registration
  • A simplified way to track progress toward degree completion

October 15–November 10, 2025: my.sussex and CX will be available as read-only, and the transition is expected to take place.

November 10, 2025: Expected completion of transition to J1

As we prepare to launch the upgraded platform, please take a moment to review the information below regarding features that will be affected. The impact on students during this time is expected to be minimal, but the College has implemented plans to ensure that students can access the resources they need.

Things to do before October 15, 2025

  1. Watch the Videos to explore the new features of J1
  2. Order a transcript
    • Order before Wednesday, October 15, if you need an official transcript before December
    • Transcripts must be ordered before the system goes offline. Click here to order a transcript. Visit the my.sussex Student Info tab for more information.
  3. Notice any Account Holds (in portal) and take action to remove them proactively.
    • Pay any outstanding balances.
    • Submit any missing financial documents.

Jenzabar One Transition

SCCC is transitioning student email from Google to Microsoft Outlook.

What does this mean for you?
All of your current email content will move to the new Outlook account. You’ll still be able to access your Google email for about 3 months, but after that, it will no longer be available.

To avoid losing important information, be sure to download or save any content in your Google account that you want to keep for future reference.

Financial Aid Information

The Financial Aid Office has been live with the JFA System (Jenzabar Financial Aid) since February and you will continue to have access to your financial aid information while the College transitions to our upgraded J1 System. Please follow instructions given to you in your 2025-26 Welcome Email on how to access your Portal account, review your financial aid awards, and submit any missing documents required to complete your file

Disbursement of Aid

We will disburse funds for all completed applications prior to October 15.  Disbursements will stop from October 15 to November 10 and resume shortly thereafter.

Refund Due to Aid

Refunds will be processed for all financial aid disbursed prior to October 15.  Refunds will stop from October 15 to November 10 and will resume shortly thereafter. 

Missing Documents Documents can continue to be uploaded and will be reviewed during the J1 transition. Please contact finaid@sussex.edu for questions.
Aid Eligibility and Billing Students may apply for financial aid, but bills will not be updated with aid information from October 15 to November 10. Updates to your bill will resume shortly thereafter. Awards may be viewed in your Portal account. 

Students can apply for housing beginning October 15th. Please check the Housing Information page for more details.

Tuition & Refunds

Before contacting the Bursar’s Office, students are encouraged to log in to their online student account (Cashnet) to view their balance. In Activity Details, if financial aid is pending, refunds are not available until after November 10.

Cashnet only accepts the first 8 characters of your Canvas/Portal password.

  • If you recently changed your password to something longer, only the first 8 characters will work when logging into Cashnet.

  • Example: If your Canvas/Portal password is SkylanderStrong!, you would enter Skylande (the first 8 characters) in Cashnet.

Late Start Students

LATE START refunds (financial aid or self-paid drops) will be processed AFTER GO LIVE, on or about  November 10.  

Delayed Start Students  

DELAYED START refunds (financial aid or self-paid drops) will be processed AFTER GO LIVE, on or about  November 10.

Concurrent Students

Parents of high school students taking concurrent courses.

Payments received by mail would be greatly appreciated during this time.

Certificate of Enrollment

Email registrar@sussex.edu from your SCCC student email, providing your SCCC ID# and the requested information.

Request Transcript

Click here to order an official transcriptElectronic transcripts will not be available during the transition, but you can still order a transcript to be mailed via USPS.  Please allow for additional processing and mail time.

Transcript Evaluations

Transcripts will continue to be evaluated, but the posting of credits will happen after we transition to the new system.

Graduation Degree Audits

Students can still Apply for Graduation by following the directions on the website. Degree audits will be processed after we transition to the new system.

Mid-term grades will be posted in Canvas only.  If you have any questions, please contact your instructor.

Early Finish Final Grades

Final grades for the Early Finish classes will be posted once we transition to the new system.

After November 10

Beginning Monday, November 10, the enhanced version of my.sussex portal will be live. All regular functions will resume, along with new features designed to improve your experience. We’ll continue to share updates as the transition moves forward.

Please be patient as everyone adjusts to the new system. Some services may experience a delay during the first few weeks after launch.
