The Student Government Association (SGA) is committed to enriching the campus life at Sussex. Membership in the SGA affords opportunities to develop interests, explore new ideas, and meet new people.
All enrolled students are members of the SGA, which five elected officers lead, and these officers are elected annually by the student body. The SGA serves as a communication link between the student body and College administration and oversees all student clubs and organizations.
SGA elections are held in late April/early May. Applications for Student Government Office will be hosted electronically, and we will hold elections at the end of April. For those students interested in becoming an officer, elected officers receive a work grant equivalent to 6-12 credits.

Veronica Conklin is currently in her second year at SCCC. She is a Musical Theater major who performs with Drama Geek Studios, most recently in their summer productions of The Little Mermaid and Grease. Veronica is a resident of Franklin, NJ, and attended Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
Jillian Faines is currently in her second year at Sussex and is pursuing a Music major. She is a resident of Montague & Newton and attended Sussex Technical School before coming to SCCC. Jillian is excited about the upcoming year and bringing the Lunch Time Open Mics to all the students! Stop by the Student Government Association Office and ask Jillian about her four lizards!
Joshua Muzzo is in his second year at Sussex County Community College and pursuing a music degree. As Student Government secretary, Josh hopes to bring passion and student spirit and encourage student engagement on campus and plans to accomplish this through a positive attitude and friendly demeanor. Josh is also a founding member of the SCCC Lego Club; stop into the SGA Office and get in on a BIG BUILD!
Karissa Maloney is entering her second year here at Sussex and pursuing a Mathematics degree. Karissa resides in Hamburg and attended Wallkill Valley Regional High School. When Karissa is not studying hard, she is playing music with the Franklin Band. Karissa enjoys being a member of the SGA & the Campus Life Crew because she has made new friends and positively impacted the college. When you stop by the SGA Office, ask her about all the instruments she plays!
