Will I be mailed a statement?
It is best to review account activity online through your My Sussex Portal. Paper statements are mailed periodically to unpaid account balance accounts. Student Account Statements (SDS) showing detailed registration and financial information will not be mailed unless requested at bursar@sussex.edu. E-statements may be sent to your Sussex Student Email.
How do I enroll in the Installment Payment Plan* (IPP)?
You can enroll for the Payment Plan from the Online Payment System. You must have a Student ID# and school-authorized password. This is the same password you use for the My.Sussex Portal. IPPs are for Spring and Fall sessions only. *US Students Only.
Is there interest in the Installment Payment Plan (IPP)?
No, there is no interest in the Payment Plan, but there is a $35 enrollment fee.
Are there Installment Payment Plans for Summer or Winter sessions?
No, Summer and Winter sessions payments are due by the first day of the session.
Can I sign up for Automatic Payments?
Yes, you can sign up to have payments automatically taken from your account each month. These payments will relieve you of having to remember when payments are due. You can go to My Sussex Portal, Payment/Billing, and sign up.
Is there a late fee?
Yes, a $50 late fee is assessed after the due date.
How is financial aid applied to my bill?
If you are approved for financial aid, it will be automatically disbursed through your student account starting after the second week of the semester if all criteria are met. Any questions should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at finaid@sussex.edu or 973-300-2225. Be certain to have filed the proper Academic Year FAFSA.
Who can help with questions regarding my student account?

What are Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment and the benefits?
E-Bill allows you or an authorized user to view your statement balance at any time. You can also make a secure payment online.
Where do I go to see my electronic bill?
Go to your My Sussex student Portal, click on the Student Tab; then click on My Account – Bursar Office – Cashier to view your bill.
Can my parents or other authorized users have access to my electronic statement information?
Yes, while logged into the online payment website there is an “authorized user/parent pin” box. By providing the necessary permissions, the authorized users will have access to your account.
What should I do if I cannot access my statement or I feel the current bill is not accurate?

Website Notice – 1098T
A paper copy will be mailed to your address on file on January 31st. You may consent to receive an electronic copy by signing into My.Sussex Portal and accessing the “Student” page/”My Account – Bursar Business Office”. The method of reporting that Sussex County Community College chooses to report to the IRS for your 1098T is the amount billed for qualified tuition & related expenses.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Tuition is due and payable before the semester/session begins. Payment, in full, may be made in cash (US Currency only), personal check, bank/cashier’s check, money order, debit/credit cards.
Checks/money orders can be mailed directly to: Sussex County Community College, ATTN: BURSAR’S OFFICE, B-203, One College Hill Road, Newton, NJ 07860. For faster processing, please put the Student ID number on the face of the check/money order. Checks returned for ‘Insufficient Funds’ will be charged a service fee of $50.
What is E-Check?
It is a free service where the funds are automatically deducted from your checking account.
